This Beautiful Book

Many out there know that I’m a big fan of Hobby Lobby and the principles that the company stands proudly on. In the profession of doing book reviews, I’ve become a big fan of the insights and perspectives of the president of Hobby Lobby, Steve Green. This latest book by Mr. Green, with Bill High, is eloquently written and easy to read while still presenting deep spiritual truths. That being said, I also found it beneficial to put the book down now and then in order to “chew” on some of those insights.

I’ve been in church since I was in the womb and had never come across a book that so thoroughly explained the Bible as a continuous story until this one crossed my desk. Great lengths are taken in this book to present the big picture that the Bible tells while bringing to the surface smaller, mostly disregarded, stories. The whole point of this is to show that these stories are not in the Bible to simply take up space, but to reinforce the true nature of God and the big picture the Bible was written to display.

While presenting the Bible as a continuous story, the reader is also presented with a fresh vision of who we are to God and His plan for us. From Old Testament to New, we are able to see the history unfold. This Beautiful Book outlines the message of the Bible so well that the reader can’t help but have a new-found appreciation for the Bible and the life-changing truths that have helped to shape history.

I highly recommend this book for anyone and everyone. No matter where they are on their spiritual journey, this book will encourage delving deeper into the Bible and seeking to discover more of God’s truths. Readers are encouraged, at the conclusion of this book, to investigate it out for themselves in order to determine whether or not they, like the authors, will love the beautiful book that continues to hold the world together: the Bible.
