This book is not one to put down till you read the last word. Suzan displayed her journey in a transparent way that drew me in. It was like sitting with a friend over a cup of coffee with laughter and tears on the side. I’m a firm believer of always having a choice, regardless of circumstances, and Suzan drove that truth home: “If you cannot change a situation, you can change how you respond to it.”
Suzan went through a harrowing experience, went through the honest-to-ugly emotions that such an event brings, made choices that could have broken her, yet she made a bigger choice: to be better, not bitter (#bebetter). “Anger does not solve anything, but can destroy everything.” She had to learn this hard truth while going through physical and emotional trials that we can only guess at.
This book and the author who wrote it encourages its audience to “Challenge your limits instead of limiting your challenges.” Don’t convince yourself that it’s too hard or not possible. Suzan is a prime example of not accepting impossibilities.
For anyone who wants or needs perspective, for anyone who needs inspiration or encouragement, for anyone venturing into the unknown, or for anyone who enjoys reading in general, I highly recommend this book.
